Leadership of Blueprint

  • Jon’s passion for helping others achieve their full potential permeates throughout his work both in and out of the office.

Professionally, it has driven him to create investment strategies that help investors sidestep the personal biases that can lead them to abandon a sound financial plan during periods of euphoria or fear.

He began his career as a trader and market maker at Bear Stearns before serving as an equity research analyst with Prudential Equity Group. In 2003, he began collaborating with fellow Blueprint founder Brandon Langley. They partnered to create a quantitative alternative investment firm, Robinson-Langley Capital Management, in 2006. Their work demonstrated the efficacy of systematic investment strategies, but they became disillusioned with the “black box” that surrounded many similar models they saw available to financial advisors.

Jon and Brandon decided to shine a light on the black box and transform it into a simple, transparent cube when they launched Blueprint in 2013. The goal was to package systematic, repeatable, and rules-based investment tools as strategies that are highly accessible for financial advisors to use in their practices.

As CEO of Blueprint, Jon is intentional about extending the firm’s focus on transparency beyond investing by cultivating a culture of honesty, integrity, and generosity.

The same principles are roots for his life outside the office. He’s a family man who spends his free time with his wife and three children.

  • Plenty of investment managers like to say they’re data-driven, but it takes a different level of discipline to follow the data even when it’s bucking conventional thinking, signaling something new, or making you feel a little uncomfortable. As president and co-founder of Blueprint, Brandon is unwaveringly in the latter camp.

He and fellow Blueprint founder Jon Robinson have been collaborating to build systematic trading systems since 2003, believing that data and trend following are the superior inputs for making investment decisions.

Prior to founding Blueprint in 2013, the pair created Robinson-Langley Capital Management, where they honed their management philosophy in the futures markets during the Financial Crisis.

As they spent tens of thousands of hours researching financial market prices and navigating through the Financial Crisis and Great Recession, Brandon and Jon became convinced of the importance of process and behavior on investors achieving their financial goals. It motivated them to create a firm that could offer financial advisors access to systematic, repeatable, and rules-based investment strategies that would increase the chances of clients remaining anchored to their financial plans during times of euphoria and fear.

Prior to teaming with Jon, Brandon was a credit risk manager for Wells Fargo’s automotive lending division, Wells Fargo Dealer Services.

He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and he holds FINRA Series 3 and 65 licenses.

In addition to helping lead Blueprint, Brandon also enjoys traveling with his wife, daughter, and son. When at home, his passion is spending time working and playing on the family farm.

  • Andrea is charged with holding the entire Blueprint Investment Partners team accountable for our vow to be an uncommonly great partner to financial advisors. It’s a firm-wide commitment that arose from frustration our team experienced when seeing other asset managers offer comments about being a good partner that felt more like lip service than real service.

Blueprint institutionalized this commitment to being an uncommonly great partner by formalizing the leadership role of Director of Advisor Experience and hiring Andrea in 2022.

    In this role, Andrea:

Supports advisors who are evaluating the efficiency of their practice

Connects advisors to the Blueprint services and investment solutions best aligned with their practice’s needs

Ensures that Blueprint’s services, communications, practice management resources, and systematic investing strategies are optimized in a way that continually makes partnering advisors feel like…partners!

Andrea’s entire career has been in financial services, and she has demonstrated herself as an innovator in advisor practice management. She brought to Blueprint experience in:

    Advisor Integration

    Operational efficiencies

    Mergers and acquisitions

    Brand management and marketing

    Business development

Her financial services leadership talent includes managing teams focused on operations, client service, and business processing.

Prior to joining Blueprint in 2022, Andrea was Chief Operating Officer at GCG Wealth Management, as well as Director of Advisory Services at an RIA and independent office near Charlotte, NC. She also was Head of Business Development for National Accounts at Braver Wealth Management in Boston, MA, where she implemented and distributed tactical algorithms to third party distribution channels and international clients.

Her financial services career began at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, where she helped run a quant strategy. The role gave her a foundational understanding of the black-box side of systematic investing, instilling in her an appreciation of the potential merits of the investing style, as well as an awareness of how a more transparent strategy could benefit financial advisory practices.

Andrea first planted roots in North Carolina in 2002, when she moved to Charlotte to attend Gardner-Webb University. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Quantitative Analysis. She also holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses.

She and her husband Jonathan reside in Charlotte and spend their free time cooking, traveling, enjoying live music, and spending time with their family and friends. They have two children, Colt and Piper.
